Australian children are obsessed with a viral energy drink launched by a social media star, paying ridiculous prices for a single bottle as stores across the country sell out.

YouTube star Logan Paul and famed boxer KSI have released an energy drink called Prime Hydration that fans are scrambling to get their hands on despite being priced at $12.

Australian stores are being inundated with calls and messages from customers asking if the drink is available and there have even been rumors of teenagers selling bottles to their friends at an inflated price.

Abroad, parents have been seen queuing outside supermarkets at 5am after hearing new stock would arrive overnight.

The Redfern convenience store was inundated with young customers after receiving a large order for the energy drink in two flavors on Wednesday and more than 600 bottles flew off the shelves.

Teenage fans of Logan Paul, who is also a boxer, have been scouring stores to find the drink in every flavor and displaying the empty bottles in their rooms as souvenirs.

Some Aussies even sell bottles of Prime Hydration for up to $25 on eBay.

Redfern Convenience Store owner and manager Hazem Sedda told FEMAIL that he already has another Prime order on the way, as he predicts his current stock “won’t last until the end of the week.”

He said dozens of the store’s 30,800 Instagram followers have been messaging him asking if and when the drink would be available in his store, but due to strong demand around the world, it was difficult to secure an order.

“We could have gotten them much sooner, but it was really difficult to secure large quantities,” he said.

“Because of the popularity of our Instagram, we can’t get just a few boxes, we have to get large quantities.”

After sharing that Prime was finally in the store on social media, Hazem said kids from all the surrounding schools were rushing to the store to buy it, some even picking up 15 bottles.

This isn’t the only time Hazem witnessed the excitement surrounding the YouTuber’s drinking.

Knowing the hype, the first time Hazem received a small shipment from Prime, he didn’t advertise it on his popular Instagram page in order to keep it available to locals and regulars.

However, it sold out before the end of the day.

Prime comes in seven different flavors and Hazem hopes to have them all for customers to try.

Supermarkets in the UK have also been struggling to keep up with demand for the drink, which is why customers can only grab three bottles at a time.

British fans can buy a bottle of Prime for just £2, but one was listed on eBay for a whopping £10,000 after supermarkets sold out.

Logan Paul and KSI have a huge young fan base with over 50 million YouTube subscribers between them.

They were known as boxing rivals whose matches draw millions of viewers and streamers online.

The pair put aside their rivalry to embark on a commercial venture, launching Prime in September.
