Robert Irwin has a VERY awkward moment with a snake moving into his shorts live: “Where is it going down there?”

Robert Irwin had an awkward moment on breakfast television Wednesday when a snake got too close to his shorts.

The 18-year-old khaki-clad wildlife warrior was handling a pair of diamond pythons during a segment with Sunrise meteorologist Sam Mac when things took an unexpected turn.

Robert gave a nervous-looking Sam one of the reptiles to hold during the live crossing from Australia Zoo on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

David said he “wasn’t sure” what was going on, but Robert seemed to have the situation under control.

Always professional, the teenage photographer shrugged and raised the snake’s head to his chest.

He went on to describe the snakes as ‘really curious’ and ‘intelligent’, saying: ‘Diamond pythons are beautiful, aren’t they?’

Sunrise viewers were quick to comment on the hilarious moment on Instagram.

It heads down. Watch out!’ one fan wrote, while another added: ‘So funny.’

A third commented: ‘Hard pass. I love the Irwins… not so much the snakes.

Robert, who is the son of the late conservationist Steve Irwin, known to the world as the ‘Crocodile Hunter’, has been making the rounds in the media this month.

He recently said he feels closer to his father, who died in a freak accident on September 4, 2006, at the age of 44, while feeding crocodiles at the Australia Zoo.

‘It is an honor and above all I feel closer to dad [Steve Irwin] when I’m feeding the crocodiles,’ he told ABC’s One Plus One last week.

“You can feel his presence,” he added.
