Erling Haaland has broken more records after scoring another hat-trick in Manchester City’s riotous 6-3 victory over rivals Manchester United.

Unsurprisingly, the Norwegian striker has been among the goals for Pep Guardiola’s side this season and his first appearance in the Manchester derby was no different.

Haaland scored a first-half brace alongside Phil Foden as City went into half-time with a commanding 4-0 lead.

He completed his hat-trick with a close-range finish in the 64th minute to take his tally for the season to 17 and break several records in the process.

The 22-year-old has now scored three successive hat-tricks at home, the first player to do this in Premier League history.

Haaland is also the first City player to score a hat-trick against United since Francis Lee in December 1970 and the third overall after Horace Barnes in 1921.

He was later joined by Foden, who made his third in the 73rd minute.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, the striker said: ‘Yeah, not bad! We have scored six goals! What can I say. It’s amazing.

‘To win at home, to score six goals, it’s nice.

‘That’s what I love about the team. In the end, it’s amazing. There’s nothing more to say.

Victory against Erik ten Hag’s side has moved City within a point of league leaders Arsenal, who beat Tottenham on Saturday.

They will return to action on Wednesday night when they take on Copenhagen in the Champions League before hosting Southampton in the league on Saturday.
