Boy George shaded I'm A Celeb while boasting about Karma Chameleon – six months before signing up

He recently confirmed his involvement in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, with ITV bosses reportedly shelling out nearly £1m to secure it.

But, in a resurfaced clip from just six months ago, Boy George threw shade at the reality show during an appearance on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway in April 2022.

After performing his hit song with Culture Club, 1983’s Karma Chameleon, the 61-year-old singer was asked by hosts what the title meant.

In true Boy George fashion, he cheekily replied, “It means I never have to say I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here!” causing the double act to burst into laughter.

It comes after George hid his recognizable face in a giant lion mask when he landed at Brisbane airport on Saturday.

Upon arrival Down Under, he told The Sun: “I’m here to do a version of the Lion Queen”, adding that he “hope” the mask stays in camp.

Asked if she’ll be eating creepy crawlies, the vegan star said: “I’m a Lion Queen, I told you so.” I love all creatures.

Elsewhere, A Place In The Sun’s Scarlette Douglass looked in high spirits as she flashed a wide smile and strolled through Brisbane airport ahead of her stint on the ITV show.

After landing in Australia, Scarlette told The Mirror: “I’m not the best with creepy crawlies and I hear they’re big here so wish me luck with that.” I’m more glamorous, so this would be interesting if I went camping.’

She added: I’m super competitive and I have two older brothers, so I’ve always had to compete for the spotlight as the only girl. I really want to get caught.

Scarlette continued: ‘I’m looking for love potentially haha. I just like a good honest and trustworthy man, that’s all. But I heard there might be a man in the jungle with a good set of muscles. So if I head to the jungle, I’d like to see a muscular guy. I’m looking for a Tarzan out there.

Mike, who married King Charles’ niece Zara in 2011, told The Sun: “It’s probably one of the longest times we’ve been away completely without communication.” When you leave, you still have communication, so obviously that’s going to be the hardest part.

‘You just have to focus on doing what you’re doing and trying to earn some stars and stuff and see where you go from there. I want to earn stars because I want to eat!

“The hanger is always going to be the biggest thing you have to worry about, but I also have three kids, so dealing with lack of sleep comes with the territory.”
