Some users called Mr. Parker’s videos “exploitative” as he makes money from the videos he posts online.

Tim’s lawn videos follow a similar pattern to that of another Australian TikTok influencer who faced backlash last month for his “random acts of kindness” videos, which viewers called “disrespectful” and “exploitative.”

Harrison Pawluk, 22, produces viral clips of himself doing good deeds for strangers, from delivering bags of food to the homeless to paying for a woman’s groceries and delivering flowers to elderly people.

However, his footage caused a stir when an elderly shopper slammed him for a widely circulated video in which he gave her a bouquet of flowers while she sat down for coffee in a mall.

The shopper, Maree, said she felt ‘dehumanized’ and ‘like clickbait’ because of the episode, and the clip of the Pawluk incident racked up more than 58.8 million views.

Elsewhere, viewers criticized another video that showed him handing a bag of items to people sleeping rough, with one person commenting, “Exploiting the homeless.”

TikToker manager Taylor Reilly told Daily Mail Australia that Pawluk received threats through his messages as a result of the backlash to his video.

“It is extremely rare that there is controversy with this, probably because it went viral,” he said. ‘Harrison usually gets nothing but gratitude.’

Reilly apologized to Maree and said Pawluk would be prepared to take down the video.

At the time of writing, the video is still up on Pawluk’s TikTok profile.
