Trump's attorney wants to know why Judge Reinhart recused himself from Clinton lawsuit

Former President Donald Trump’s visit with personal attorney Alina Habba has continued his crackdown on officials who orchestrated the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago on Monday.

‘They needed a little drama, so they threw this out there. They go to the judge who recused himself in my Hillary case a month ago,” Habba told Fox News host Jesse Watters during an appearance on Friday.

‘I’d like to know why he recused himself in that case, but then he was able to sign this order. I want to know that.’

Habba was referring to the fact that on June 22, Magistrate Judge Bruce W. Reinhart recused himself from a lawsuit involving Trump and Hillary Clinton.

The 45th president is suing Clinton and other prominent Democrats over allegations of collusion with Russia.

Six weeks after that recusal, Judge Reinhart signed the order authorizing the feds to search Trump’s property in Mar-a-Lago.

During an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Alina Habba described Trump’s nonchalant response to Monday’s FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago.

In his recusal, the magistrate wrote: ‘The undersigned magistrate judge, to whom the above named case was assigned, hereby recuses himself and refers the case to the clerk of the court for reassignment pursuant to 28 USC § 455.’

According to the specific code: ‘Any judge, judge, or magistrate of the United States shall disqualify himself in any where his impartiality may reasonably be questioned.’

The judge did not specify what disqualified him from overseeing the lawsuit.

Earlier this week, Habba, along with fellow Trump attorney Christina Bobb, accused the FBI of planting evidence during Monday’s raid.

Habba described Trump’s reaction to the raid by saying, “It’s like, ‘Oh, it’s a Monday, Alina. It’s a Monday in Trump’s world.'” Honestly, nothing. He was confused as to why they were there. He had just seen them in June.

Trump’s lead attorney continued: “They had said, ‘Everything is fine, but could you put another lock on it? We’ll be fine.'” Did you know? In my opinion, the ratings for January 6, the January 6 show, have not been doing so well.

While on his Truth Social page, Habba has made multiple attacks on Judge Reinhart.

Watters joked with Habba later in the interview, asking if Trump himself had packed any of the boxes the FBI searched during the raid.

Trump watched the raid live from Trump Tower in New York through security cameras at his Florida home, Bobb said during an interview with the right-wing media network Real America’s Voice on Friday. Bobb joked that the Trumps probably had a better view than her and that she was at Mar-a-Lago when the raid took place.

Habba also said in his Friday appearance: “So explain to me, why would you tell someone to put an extra lock on, go away for almost two months, get a court order, sit down for a weekend, have a cocktail and then show up again? Are the guns burning? Didn’t even report it to the local police, which is normal. It wasn’t even there. It doesn’t make sense.’

Multiple media outlets have published articles detailing Judge Reinhart’s past as a defense attorney, which included a stint working for pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein and making political donations to Barack Obama.

Trump is under investigation for obstruction of justice and violation of the Espionage Act, according to the newly disclosed search warrant showing the FBI recovered 11 sets of classified documents from Mar-a-Lago.

The former president insisted Friday that everything was “declassified” and that agents “didn’t need to seize anything.”

Some of the documents were marked “top secret” and are intended to be kept in specialized government facilities, according to a copy of the order.

The FBI would have had to show reasonable suspicion that Trump committed a crime by withholding the documents: Criminal statutes cited in the warrant include espionage, record expungement and obstruction of justice.

Violations of the Espionage Act could include: harboring or concealing persons, collecting, transmitting, or losing defense information, collecting or disclosing defense information to assist a foreign government, or disclosing classified information.

The 11 sensitive items included miscellaneous documents labeled “secret,” “top secret,” and “confidential.”

Agents recovered 20 boxes in total from the Florida estate, with the rest including handwritten notes, photo folders, Roger Stone’s clemency grant and a file with information on the French president.

DailyMail.com obtained a copy of the order and receipts before it was unsealed by a Florida trial judge Friday afternoon.

The warrant gave FBI agents permission to search Trump’s office and all storage areas at the facility, and states that four sets of top-secret documents, three sets of secret documents and three sets of confidential documents were recovered.

Trump’s lawyers now also claim that former President Trump declassified the documents before he left office. A president has the power to declassify any document, but there is a strict federal procedure to do so.
