During the exciting launch show where the 15 celebrities were paired with the professional dancers, 2021 winner Rose again performed a beautiful Viennese Waltz with the Italian hunk, and the moment left fans in awe as one commented: “Crying again!”

The emotional performance comes just weeks after Rose’s split from boyfriend Sam Arnold was revealed, with the couple said to have spent a lot of time apart as Rose indulged in work commitments.

Despite his recent romance troubles, the 27-year-old former EastEnders star looked in good spirits as he made a triumphant return to Strictly a year after his win.

Joining Claudia and Giovanni on the couch before their homecoming dance, Rose said it was “lovely” to be back on the show and expressed surprise that it had been a whole year since she first took part.

He added that training for his comeback dance with Giovanni made him realize how much he ‘missed’ training with him, while the Italian heartthrob added that the few hours they danced together once again were ‘magical’.

What a duet: During the rousing kick-off show, 2021 winner Rose again performed a beautiful Viennese waltz with the Italian hunk, and the moment left fans in awe as one commented, “Crying again!”

The couple took to the floor and danced their Viennese waltz from week five of last year’s competition.

The dance featured Alicia Keys’ hit song Fallin’, which incorporated the use of sign language into the routine.

And as the duo glided across the dance floor with ease, fans were thrilled to see the magic the pair created once again.

Following his winning partnership with Rose, Giovanni will now form one of two same-sex couples in this series, as he takes the floor with Richie Anderson.

Elsewhere, Helen Skelton will take the floor with Gorka Marquez after becoming a late-night addition to the show, while Katya Jones teamed up with footballer Tony Adams.

The long-awaited launch show was originally due to air on September 17, but was postponed due to only two days to go before Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, which took place on September 19.
