Dror Bikel, Judith’s attorney, told the Post it was “outrageous” that Giuliani didn’t show up in court and that he was grateful Katz ordered the defendant to be jailed if he didn’t pay.
“For him to flout the court and not bother to show up and appear in court, God forbid someone would do that to him when he was a federal prosecutor,” Bikel said.
Representatives for Giuliani did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
Giuliani had previously said his wife’s estimate that he owed her $260,000 was a “huge exaggeration,” saying he actually owed her $50,000.
“I owe him money, but I don’t owe him $260,000.”
Judith had filed the lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court last month, alleging that Giuliani had been “inconsistent and sporadic” with the payments he was required to make under the divorce settlement.
The couple separated in 2018 after 15 years of marriage, which was followed by a fierce court battle over his $30 million fortune.
