Police Complaint Against Kangana: Controversy Over 1947’s Independence

Kangana Ranaut and controversy are not new. The two have a similar relationship from the beginning. It seems that these two have become synonymous. Sometimes Kangana makes headlines from time to time due to her expressions and sometimes Padma Shri honors.

Kangana has again come under controversy over her statement. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Preeti Sharma Menon has lodged a complaint with the police against Kangana over her remarks on British rule and freedom struggle.

Speaking at the Times Now Summit 2021, Kangana described India’s independence in 1947 as “begging”. In 2014, she said, real freedom came. Leader Menon has lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police over the remarks. Netru Sharma shared a picture on Twitter while filing a complaint with the police. He said that Kangana’s statement in the complaint was against the national interest and asked to take action as per law.
