OnePlus confirms that the 10T will arrive August 3rd with a top-shelf chipset

Pete Lau is throwing a party. As he just announced in a community forum post, the OnePlus CEO says its upcoming 10T will launch on August 3 with an in-person event in New York City. The 10T continues OnePlus’ tradition of performance-focused specs with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, which is, in theory, a cut above the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 of the OnePlus 10 Pro. OnePlus will also seize the opportunity. to release OxygenOS 13, which Lau says will come to the 10 Pro first and the 10T later this year.

Qualcomm says that the “Plus” version of the 8 Gen 1 offers faster performance and better battery efficiency than the non-plus chipset. It is a type of removable processor and is primarily designed for gaming-oriented mobile devices. It suggests that the 10T will be more performance-oriented than the conventional 10 Pro, which is a nice phone that falls a bit short compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22.

OnePlus is playing its usual long game and isn’t revealing much at the moment. A little digging, aka fiddling with sliders in Photoshop, also doesn’t reveal much in the shaded parts of the unique device image OnePlus has released. It appears to have a very similar camera array to the OnePlus 10 Pro, offering standard wide, ultrawide and telephoto rear lenses.

It looks like both devices have a fourth rear camera, but on the 10 Pro, at least, that’s just a flash. It seems unlikely that OnePlus has overhauled the camera system for this second-half-year launch, but that’s definitely a category where the 10 Pro falls short and the 10T could do better.

While OnePlus is keeping quiet, the rumors have been a bit more revealing of what the company might have up its sleeve, indicating that we could see very fast 150W charging and, brace yourself, the exit of the alert slider. physical. Say it isn’t, Pete. In any case, everything will be revealed very soon: the launch event starts at 10 am. m. ET on August 3.
