Italy were stopped when Georginho missed a penalty

Kathmandu. European champions Italy have been held to a draw by Switzerland in the European selection for the 2022 FIFA World Cup after failing to capitalize on a last-minute penalty.

Italy failed to take the lead when midfielder Jorgenho fired a penalty in the 90th minute of Friday night’s game at home. With this result, Italy has lost the chance to be selected directly in the World Cup.

Switzerland took the lead in the 11th minute through a goal by Silvan Widmer. Giovanni de Lorenzo equalized in the 36th minute. In the last minute, Italy did not manage to win even though they got a penalty with the help of weight.

Italy and Switzerland are in first and second place with 15 points each after seven rounds of play in Group C.

In Group C, Northern Ireland and Lithuania drew 1-1.
