High vigilance in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh after Zika virus outbreak

Delhi. The Indian capital, New Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh have been on high alert for the spread of the Zika virus, officials said. Health officials in India say the virus has been on the rise for some time.

According to him, the virus was found in 43 people in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday alone. Outbreaks of the virus have been reported in the state of Uttar Pradesh in recent times.

Government health officials in the state of Uttar Pradesh have diagnosed the virus in 79 cases in the last two weeks. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the virus was on the rise in New Delhi and the government was on high alert. He said that arrangements have been made for the treatment of those infected with the virus in all government hospitals here.
