A hero, a father of three, restrained a woman who stripped to her underwear and ran naked through a Manchester-bound plane before attempting to storm the cabin twice while shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’.
Phillip O’Brien, 35, was a passenger on the Jet2 flight from Lanarca, Cyprus to Manchester on Tuesday 9 August when a woman, in her 30s, caused the panic scene shortly after takeoff.
The woman appeared to suggest that she had explosives on board and also asked the children she was with if they were “ready to die”.
He also told terrified passengers and staff that his parents were members of the ISIS terrorist group.
Mr. O’Brien, the head of a drainage company, was on board with six members of his family, including his wife and three children ages eight to 14.
She said everyone was ‘shit’, but as she watched the scene unfold, she asked the staff why no one was knocking her to the ground before showing up to help.

Images shared on social media show a chaotic scene with at least two French police officers appearing to arrest or immobilize a woman, wearing a black cap and red T-shirt.
The clip’s caption reads: “Jet2 Cirque De Soleil: Crazy woman ran down the aisle half naked, half naked, half peeing and passed out.”
