Former South African President De Klerk dies at 85

Former South African President Frederick Willem de Klerk has died at the age of 85. South Africa’s last white president, Clarke, ruled from 1989 to 1994.

According to the fund set up in his name, former President Clarke, who was diagnosed with cancer, died at his residence in Fresne this morning. He is survived by his wife Elita, children Jan and Susan and grandchildren.
