Final Preview: Whose weight is heavier in Australia and New Zealand?

Australia and New Zealand will meet in the final of the T20 World Cup. The match will start at 7:45 pm Nepali time on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium. Both teams are on the verge of winning the title for the first time. New Zealand reached the final of the tournament for the first time while Australia is competing for the title for the second time. Australia lost to England by seven wickets in the 2010 World Cup and missed out on the title.

Journey to the final

Australia reached the semifinals of the Super 12, finishing second in Group One. In this Group of Death, Australia lost only to England and won the remaining four games. After that in the semi-finals, the winner of Group B defeated Pakistan by five wickets to make it to the final. Matthew Wade played an explosive innings of 41 off 17 balls to successfully chase 176 runs.

Meanwhile, New Zealand also reached the semifinals by becoming runners-up in Group Two. New Zealand, who lost to Pakistan early in the tournament, then lost to India, Scotland, Namibia and Afghanistan. In the semi-finals, New Zealand edged out Group One winners England.


Player to watch

The explosive batting of the middle-order batsmen of Australia and New Zealand has played a big role in reaching the final. Marcus Stoinis was the hero along with Wade in the semi-final against Pakistan. David Warner has also been seen in a lot of form lately. He is the fourth highest run scorer in the tournament. So far, he has scored 236 runs.

On the other hand, Adam Jampa has been performing well for Australia in bowling. He is the second highest wicket taker in the tournament with 12 wickets. Even in the semi-finals, he took 1 wicket and spent only 22 runs to stop Pakistan in a score less than 180 runs.

Martik Guptill and Darrell Mitchell, who are in the top order for New Zealand, are in excellent form. Mitchell has scored 197 and Guptill 180 runs. Jimmy Nissam is also batting well.

Australia dominates New Zealand in the game between the two teams. Australia have won nine of the 14 T20 matches between the two teams and New Zealand have won five. In the World Cup, New Zealand has lost to Australia.
