Fantasy Premier League confirms Gameweek 7 will be rolled over with no points scored

The Premier League announced that all matches this weekend have been postponed in honor of Queen Elizabeth II following her death at the age of 96 on Thursday.

The FA confirmed that all football across the country would also be cancelled, including the EFL and the opening games of the new WSL season, as well as matches in the Barclay’s Women’s Championship, FA Women’s Cup and FA Trophy.

The National League has also canceled its match schedule for Saturday and Sunday in steps one to six and grassroots matches in England have also been postponed to commemorate the Queen’s death.

The government has previously warned against sporting events this weekend, or on the day of the Queen’s funeral, but has left the final decision up to individual organisations.

The Scottish FA, the Scottish Professional Football League, the Scottish Women’s Premier League and the Highland & Lowland Leagues have agreed that all professional football matches will be postponed this weekend as a show of respect.

FA Wales has announced that the games from September 9-12 have been postponed.

Manchester United’s Europa League clash with Real Sociedad at Old Trafford and West Ham’s match against FCSB in the Europa Conference League at London Stadium took place on Thursday night with pre-match tributes.

The Northern Ireland Football League announced Friday night matches between Cliftonville and Glentoran and Larne and Dungannon have been postponed.

The English Football League also confirmed that Friday night’s championship game between Burnley and Norwich and the League Two match between Tranmere and Stockport have been postponed, and no decision has yet been made on Saturday’s matches.

The Irish Football Association has announced that all Northern Ireland football scheduled for this weekend will not be played.

All Premier League 2 matches have been cancelled, as well as the championship match between Burnley and Norwich.

Tonight’s League Two match between Tranmere Rovers and Stockport County has also been postponed.

Cricket

Friday’s men’s game between England and South Africa at The Oval, along with all scheduled matches at the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, will not take place.

rugby union

Northampton have announced the postponement of their Premiership Rugby Cup clash against Saracens scheduled for Thursday night.

The Scottish Rugby Union has postponed all domestic competitive games this weekend as a mark of respect and the women’s international summer test between Scotland and Spain on Sunday is also cancelled.

Bristol Bears v Bath Rugby has been postponed from Friday night to Saturday at 5.30pm, following the Premiership board’s decision. The remainder of Saturday’s Premiership Rugby matches will go ahead.

rugby league

The RFL has postponed Friday’s Betfred Championship game between Sheffield Eagles and Dewsbury Rams, but the first Super League knockout play-off between Catalans Dragons and Leeds will take place in Perpignan, France.

More announcements about the weekend’s matches at all levels were scheduled “as soon as possible”, the governing body said.

Golf

Play has been suspended for the day at the BMW PGA Championship and there will be no game on Friday.

However, organizers later revealed that they plan to restart at Wentworth this weekend, pending guidance from Buckingham Palace.

Formula 1

Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix will go ahead as scheduled with a minute’s silence planned before practice on Friday and another expected before the race.

Boxing

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) declared that all fights on Friday would not go ahead as planned.

The weigh-in for Saturday’s proposed fight between Savannah Marshall and Claressa Shields will take place behind closed doors. No announcement has yet been made about the weekend’s fight at The O2 in London.

Tennis

The US Open paid a brief tribute to the Queen during the women’s semifinals on Thursday night in New York. With Britain’s Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski on either side of the net for Friday’s men’s doubles final, the pair are expected to wear black armbands to mark the passing of the Queen.

horse racing

Horse racing was a passion dear to the Queen. Events have been canceled for Friday and Saturday, while evening cards at Southwell and Chelmsford have been abandoned on Thursday after news of her death was confirmed at around 6:30pm.

On Sunday, racing returns, led by St Leger in a revised nine-race program at Doncaster Racecourse.

Sunday’s card at Chepstow in Wales will also proceed as normal, but Musselburgh in Scotland has been canceled as the Queen’s body will be laid to rest in Edinburgh.

The queen’s horse, King’s Lynn, has not been declared for the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh, Ireland, on Sunday, after initially being entered.

Athletics

The Great North Run, the world’s largest half marathon, will take place on Sunday. Organizers canceled its sister 5k event on Friday.

Richmond RUN-FEST has been postponed because its route would take runners through two venues owned in part by Historic Royal Palaces and a floral tribute to Elizabeth in the Royal Borough’s Old Deer Park.

Cycling

Friday’s leg of the Tour of Britain was canceled immediately and later on Thursday night the rest of the tour, which was scheduled to finish on the Isle of Wight on Sunday, was called off entirely.

Ice Hockey

Premier Sports Elite League Ice Hockey will kick off tonight as previously planned, following a board meeting. Matches will begin with a two-minute silence by the Queen, followed by a performance of the national anthem.
