Eight killed in stampede at Texas music festival

Texas. Eight people have been killed in a stampede at the Astroworld Music Festival in Texas, USA. More than 300 people have been injured in the incident.

The bomber struck shortly after 9 p.m., according to Houston Fire Chief Samuel Pena. Rapper Travis Scott was giving a presentation at the time of the incident.

He has been organizing this festival since 2019. There were about 50,000 participants. Some people started fleeing and some fainted.

Those who died in the incident will be subjected to surgical examination and the cause of death will be studied. Of the 300 injured, 23 have been admitted to the hospital. Eleven participants in the festival are said to have suffered heart attacks.

The entrance to the festival was very crowded. People even broke down barricades to get inside. Pushing each other, people climbed on top of each other and even watched the festival.
