The high-level meeting of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has passed a resolution outlining the party’s centennial achievements and historical experience. A senior Chinese political analyst said the sixth extended meeting of the CPC Central Committee aimed to “strengthen” China in the coming century, with the party leadership at the center.
The committee’s lengthy report, released on Thursday, describes how China has been successful in the past and how it can continue to be successful in the future.
The report also said that China was ready to face future challenges and remain steadfast in its national unity. According to Xinhua, the resolution presented at the 19th Central Committee meeting was reviewed and approved. The sixth extended meeting of the committee was held in Beijing from November 8 to 11.
CPC Secretary-General Xi Jinping delivered a keynote address at the session. “The extended meeting is a milestone not only for the history of the Chinese Communist Party but also for China itself. It marks the beginning of another historic journey and national unity, “said Zhang Suhua, director of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
“Compared to the previous six extended meetings, this session summarizes how China has been successful, how to build confidence and how those experiences are meaningful to the world,” Zhang said. He described China’s power, principle, patience and its spirit.
The report divides the achievements of the 100-year-old Chinese Communist Party into four parts of history. The report cites the achievements of the key representatives of history, such as Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping.
Mao’s China is described as the age of social revolution and construction. The period of Deng, Jiang and Hu is called the new era of restructuring, open and socialist modernization. The contemporary period is interpreted as socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Analysts have described the 100-year-old Chinese achievement as a relay race. In each generation, the Chinese communists have accomplished their age-old tasks, achieved new heights and overcame challenges. Mentioning that the destiny of all is the same, the report said, “We are committed to the communist ideology, seeking the happiness of the Chinese people and achieving China’s national unity.”
