Kathmandu. New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Devon Conway has been ruled out of Sunday’s ICC T20 World Cup final due to injury. Conway, who was injured during the semi-final against England on Wednesday night, will not be part of New Zealand’s final squad.
An X-ray of Conway, who was frustrated after being out of the game against England and punched his own bat, showed a broken bone in his hand. With his X-ray report, he is certain to miss the final against Australia.
Earlier, New Zealand’s Luke Ferguson was also ruled out of the tournament after being injured in the match against Pakistan. New Zealand, who beat England in the semi-finals to advance to the final, will play Australia on Sunday.
New Zealand, who are also runners-up in the ODI World Cup 2019, have reached the final of the T20 World Cup for the first time. Australia, who lost to England in the final in 2010, also reached the final for the first time since then.
