NSW Fire and Rescue Superintendent Adam Dewberry told Daily Mail Australia that firefighters came to confront scenes with flames shooting from windows and through the roof and smoke billowing into the air.
“We got there and there was a section of the house with a lot of fire activity,” he said.
“It was a bit dangerous because the roof was collapsing and the firefighters were dropping tiles,” he said.
Falling debris forced firefighters to douse the flames primarily from the outside.
Firefighters attempted to extinguish the fire and prevent it from burning down other houses, before the house was destroyed by fire, Nine News reported.
Emergency crews spent the rest of the afternoon at the scene putting out fires that continued to flare up.
