Bridgerton unveils first look image of Queen Charlotte for the much-anticipated prequel spin-off

Bridgerton has unveiled a first look image at Queen Charlotte ahead of the much-anticipated prequel spin-off series.

Last year it was announced that a spin-off series would be in the works charting the younger years of the flamboyant and gossip-hungry monarch, with the show written and executive produced by Bridgerton creator Shonda Rhimes.

And Netflix has released a first look at India Amarteifio as the fan-favorite character from the period drama.

Exciting: Bridgerton has unveiled a first look at Queen Charlotte ahead of the long-awaited prequel spin-off series.

The 21-year-old actress embodied the character as she was covered in jewels and wore an elegant white dress with a fitted corset and a hooded cape of shiny satin.

She completed her regal outfit with a pair of cream satin gloves and placed an extravagant crown in her dark hair.

Charlotte gazed solemnly into the camera as she posed in a palace, with flower arrangements and sculptures in the background.

In addition to giving a first look at the character, Netflix also revealed that the official title of the prequel spin-off show will be Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

A description of the series read: “Focusing on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great story of love as a social change, creating the world of Ton inherited by Bridgerton’s characters.

The news came ahead of Saturday’s Netflix Tudum fan event, where the series will be unveiled and more surprise announcements will be revealed.

The prequel will also see Golda Rosheuvel return to the role of Queen Charlotte, in her later years, with Adjoa Andoh playing the fierce Lady Agatha Danbury.

Ruth Gemmell will also reprise her role as Lady Violet Bridgerton, while Michelle Fairley will join the cast as Princess Augusta.

Elsewhere, Corey Mylchreest will play young King George and Arsema Thomas will make her television debut as young Agatha Danbury.

Set in the mid-18th century, the prequel examines the young life of Charlotte, the German royal daughter who married British monarch George III, played in the Netflix drama by Corey Mylchreest, in 1761, when she was 17 years old.

The marriage lasted 57 years and had 15 children. Miss Amarteifio, 21, who played DCI Roz Huntley’s daughter Sophie in the fourth series of the BBC drama Line Of Duty, has also starred in Dr Who and ITV’s Unforgotten.

It will also include the origins of other characters that appear in Bridgerton, namely Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury.

After rumors that Bridgerton’s second series didn’t live up to the raunchy heights of the first, it seems the producers have taken note, with the Netflix drama spin-off prequel Queen Charlotte being spiced up to maintain viewing figures. high audience.

For one scene, a source says, a wall was reinforced. In another scene, viewers will see headboards banging.

According to one source, there were fears that an energetic lovemaking scene with the young monarch, played by India Ria Amarteifio, could be so energetic that it could literally bring the house down.

“There is a young cast for the prequel and the sex scenes feature them,” the source said. “It’s definitely going to satisfy the Bridgerton fans who complain there are no sex scenes in season two.

‘In one story there will be a headboard banging hard against a wall. It will be spicier than anything from the first series.

Plot: Set in the mid-18th century, the prequel examines the young life of Charlotte, the daughter of German royalty who married British monarch George III.
