Brazil beat Colombia in the South American qualifier on Friday morning with a single goal from Lucas Pacquiao. Pakweta scored in the 72nd minute through a pass from Neymar.
With the victory, Brazil managed to secure a place in the World Cup with 6 games left in the selection. In the 10-nation South American selection, Brazil tops the list with 34 points from 12 games, while Argentina, which has played one game less, is in second place with 25 points. Ecuador is in third place with 20 points.
Four teams from South America will be selected directly, while the fifth team will play in the continental playoffs.
Top-ranked Brazil can no longer be overtaken by second-placed Argentina and third-placed Ecuador.
Fourth to sixth place Chile, Colombia and Uruguay have the same 16 points.
