After losing to Colombia, Brazil qualified for the World Cup 6 games ahead

Agency. Brazil has become the first South American country to qualify for next year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Brazil secured the World Cup in Qatar six games ahead with a 1-0 victory over Colombia in the World Cup qualifier this morning.

Ten teams are participating in the South American selection of the World Cup. In the round-robin system, all will play 18 games under the Home and Away competition. Unbeaten Brazil has been selected with 34 points from 12 games.

Four teams from South America will play in the World Cup, while the fifth-ranked team will play in the Intercontinental Playoffs.

Brazil’s Lucas Pacquiao scored the decisive goal in the victory over Colombia, which failed to win the qualifying match for the fourth time in a row. In the 72nd minute, he scored on a pass from Neymar.
