A bomb blast near a mosque in Afghanistan has injured at least 12 people

A bomb has exploded at a mosque in the Spin Ghar district of Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province. A bomb blast near the northern city of Mosul has killed at least 12 Iraqi people and injured dozens more, a Taliban official has told AFP. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of mourners in the Spin Ghar district during Friday prayers, the official said.

The bomber struck shortly after 1:30 a.m. local time, according to Reuters, quoting locals.
