10 patients die in fire in covid ward

Ten Kovid patients have died in a fire in the intensive care unit of Ahmednagar Civil Hospital in Maharashtra, India. Seven other patients have been injured.

Two of the seven are in critical condition and five are out of danger, according to the Times of India. The fire broke out on the first and second floors of the hospital. Seventeen covid patients were being treated on the first floor of the hospital.

Preliminary investigation has shown that the fire was followed by an electric shock. The cause of the fire is being further investigated, NDTV said.
